Biography

Joined Westfield State University in 2019.

I teach courses in genetics, biostatistics, and bioinformatics. I enjoy mentoring students in the classroom as well as laboratory and fostering an appreciation for the power of genomics to address important biological problems.

My research focuses on understanding how genomes evolve and interact over time. My work examines the roles of mutation, genome coevolution, and plastid evolution in shaping the diversity of life. By integrating evolutionary biology, genomics, and bioinformatics, I investigate how genetic changes arise, spread, and influence genome structure across different organisms.
